In this book we follow our two main characters Faith and Mackenzie who are cousins and bestfriends.Faith is a senior in high school who has some kind of disease(I'm not sure of what the name of it is) that make her bleed or has to do with blood(I suck at identyfing diseases) that hasn't got a cure and also her father left sometime ago.Mackenzie is a junior that lives with her father and her stepmother and they both kind of hate her,she also has bulimia and her only real friend is her cousin Fait [...]
This book, man. It was a great read. First, I want to say that it is ridiculously brave of this author to bare her heart and spill such a vulnerable piece of herself into a book for strangers to read. Its a beautiful, yet heart-wrenching story and it was written wonderfully. The book has multiple transitions; from present to past and also between two narrators. The transitions were executed great- everything flowed well, which I feel is a difficult thing to do. As far as the story itself, I deve [...]
This book was exceptionally realistic in its characters and situations. It was easy to see parts of your life or those around you in the book. So much so that the book was emotionally realistic as well. I experienced some smiles and tears while reading Heaven Has No Regrets. I truly loved the words of wisdom in between the stories of the main characters. The book came together beautifully in the end. This is a great story for anyone who ever lost someone near and dear to them. There IS a future [...]
I received this free book form -First reads. Based on a true story. Makenzie and Faith, very close cousins. The author describes their love of doing everything together. Faith has an incurable disease and Makenzie battles an eating disorder. The author describes all aspects of grief. " Keep moving. Don't look back. No regrets"
THERE WERE ALMOST TEARS, OKAY.Faith and Makenzie are devastatingly real characters with real problems and real emotions and god damn, I felt every second of them. This book is an emotional roller coaster and absolutely, definitely worth the read.
ARC kindly provided by Smith Publicity via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.Review I'd just like to warn you, before you consider picking up this book - this novel has a whole lot of emotional turmoil, problems, sicknesses and depressing situations that may or may not turn you off from reading this book. Heaven Has No Regrets, was by far the hardest novel I ever read - Heaven Is For Real came at a very close second. Heaven Has No Regrets was very much like Heaven Is For Real, so if you [...]
Heaven Has No Regrets features young adult protagonists and a story line that revolves around two cousins who struggle to survive their world; but this doesn't mean it's a simple story. Mature teens will not only find the subject emotionally gripping, but it's told from three alternating viewpoints (Faith, Makenzie, and the Narrator) whose stories entwine to create a bigger picture than any single perspective could have provided. It's easy to initially believe that the story line follows a predic [...]
My husband's former student is an author! This entire novel was build in a very clever way. Tessa worked it out! Interesting read, fantastic break-out novel!
I received this book for free on netgalley in exchange for my honest review. This is the story of 2 teenage cousins who are also best friends. It is a story of friendship, love, and loss. The book is told in several voices. It switches between Faith and Mackenzie in the past tense and an unnamed narrator in the present. I found this book difficult to engage with. The parts that were being told by Faith and Mackenzie were better for me but the parts being told by the unnamed narrator I found were [...]
