This is book seven in the Savannah Reid series. Savannah is flying home to McGill, Georgia for her sister Marietta's wedding. When she arrives, she finds her brother, Macon has been arrested for the murder of Judge Patterson. Savannah knows her little brother didn't kill anyone, so she sets out to find the true killer. As soon as her partners back in California her about Macon, they fly out to help Savannah with the case. I always love reading a Savannah Reid book. There is just something about [...]

This is a comfortable series, I read more for the characters than the mystery. This time Savannah is called home to witness her sister Marietta getting married for the third time. Upon arrival she learns that her brother Macon is in jail for murder. Within hours Dirk and Tammy show up for support and to help unravel the truth behind the murder. Along the way we get to see the dynamics of this large southern family and how Granny holds them together. Since the mother is absent in raising her chil [...]

Still love Savannah's wacky family and her Southern sass.

Savannah returns to Georgia for a wedding or maybe a wedding. And definitely to help out a family member accused of murder. And pie, there's pie too.

In this book in the series, Savannah returns to her hometown and there is nothing but trouble.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books1 star This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.2 stars This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.3 stars This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.4 stars I really [...]

Private detective Savannah Reid goes home to Georgia for her sister's wedding, envisioning a chaotic time with her large family, all the while wearing a truly ugly bridesmaid's dress. What she finds instead is down-home crime, good cooking, selfish family and lots of memories. What this series does best is evoke warm feelings of family and friendship with lots of mouthwatering food served in between . The mysteries unfold and are happily solved with the help of family and her California friends a [...]

Book #13 Read in 2013Peaches and Screams by G.A. McKevettThis is the 7th book in the Savannah Reid mystery series. In this book, Savannah heads back to her southern hometown for the wedding of one of her sisters. When she arrives, she finds one of her brothers has been arrested for the murder of the town judge. Savannah does not believe that her brother did it, so she sets out to use her former cop/current PI skills to clear his name. She gets some help from her friends Dirk and Tammy. But will [...]

Nola has been gone from her hometown for 15 years and when her job turns into a desk job she comes back for a visit to help run her parents Peach farm while they are on a trip. She finds that the farm is in trouble with lots of things that need repair and no money. A local business man is found murdered in the peach trees and her brother in law is who the sheriff thinks did it. Between trying to find out who the real killer is and getting the peach farm running Nola is busy. This has a good sens [...]

It was so much fun to read an earlier Savannah Reid book after knowing where the story has gone. It was so obvious even back then that Dirk was in love with Savannah took em long enough to finally admit it :) As always, a great mystery, funny dialogue and a great cast of characters that make up yet another amazing book in the Savannah Reid mysteries! If you haven't read these books, please do - you won't be disappointed

I really like Savannah - she had the right combination of L.A. big-city saavy and Southern small-town charm. And finally, a cozy mystery heroine who after figuring out the murderer, doesn't plunge ahead idiotically and endanger her life! (Think it helped that she was a former cop). Also liked the relationships between Dirk, Savannah & Tammy as well as the hint of what used to be with Savannah and Tommy. Would definitely read more from this author!

In this adventure, Savannah Reid goes home to Georgia for her sister Marietta's latest wedding. The usual characters (Tammy & Dirk) also visit the small town to help Savannah clear her brother Macon from a murder charge. Most of the action is confined to Gran's house except for the two murders. Profit is the main motive for the murders. The local color supplied by the people and place adds a different flavor to this novel in the series.

I like these books by G. A McKevett. I like to read series books but Ido read other mysteries. That is what I mostly read. I have read bookswith romances and mysteries together. What I learn from reading mysteries is that there are people in this world that just are evil and sometimes circumstances change good peopleto someone that they don't even know.

this was really good, it was set in georgia, she went back for a wedding (that never happened) and her brother was set up and arrested for a murder he didnt do. her cop friend (Dirk) and girl assistant (Tammy)ended up going to georgia to help her solve the murder. this is the only one so far not set in ca and i still enjoyed it!

Bringing the story to Granny's place is nice except for the circumstances of death. Meeting more of the Reid's is a lot to take in but fun. You can really feel the shift between Dirk and Savannah happening.

I like the characters. this books takes us to her hometown where we get to meet more of the family. I really enjoyed it. I also liked that two of the main characters came along alittle while later to help her clear her brother.

Book 7

I love this series

The contrived banter between the main characters is starting to get really old.

I love Peaches and Screams this is one series that keeps getting better and better. I love the characters and the mystery is always top notch.Pamela

I love these books for summer by the pool. No smut but good 'get away from it all mysteries. In another life I want to be Savannah Reid.

A great read as always!

A fun, lite read for vacation. As a transplanted Southern girl, I enjoyed the trip back home! I didn't know how they'd prove it, but I guessed the killer right away.

Another enjoyable episode in the series. It was interesting to see Savannah at home and working through some of her family issues.

Nice light read.

Although this is the 7th in the series there is ample background woven in the storyline. Generally like able characters.

This could be my favorite Savannah Reid story. Well, maybe, I really love them all.

This is a series fun quick reads. This one is set in Georgia and I found the change in scenery interesting!

Fun times!! Love going back to the south & her roots! Enjoyable writing & plot.
